Hi everyone,
A quick heads-up that our next session of Office Hours will be Tuesday, October 27, at 4 p.m. ET.
If you haven’t attended yet, these monthly sessions are casual, half-hour get-togethers where we can check in on what we’re working on, trade ideas, ask questions, and generally help each other navigate the labyrinthine world of writing and publishing. No slides, no formal agenda, and no recording. You’re welcome to be as candid as you’d like.
Office Hours are a perk of paid and founding membership and (imho), one of the best things about Author Insider. It’s a thoughtful, supportive, and determined group of writers at all stages of publishing. I would love to see you there.
Here are a few topics that might come up:
Writing and book proposals: Developing ideas, finding your angle, working through a manuscript, or approaching agents.
Publishing decisions: Traditional vs. hybrid vs. self-publishing, finding the right path for your book, and understanding how the industry works.
Building your audience: Newsletters, Substack, social media, and connecting with potential readers.
Marketing and publicity: Getting attention for your book, planning a launch, or keeping the momentum going afterward.
Whatever’s on your mind: Challenges, small victories, questions, or something you’d just like to bounce off the group.
You don’t need to have a specific question or problem to join. Sometimes it’s nice to connect with other writers going through the same process.
I hope to see you there!
